Fringe Spot Appearances

Jazz Poetry

Catch it LIVE on Friday, December 2nd, 2011 at 3.45pm at Bayview Corner, Bayview Beach Resort

Jazz poetry is like the music itself, full of a variety of forms, rhythms, and sounds.

Experimentation with the spoken word started way back when one could find jazz poetry running through the early days of the blues, the beginnings of jazz, the Harlem Renaissance, the Beat movement and the various directions that jazz has taken since then.

Jazz poetry is vibrantly alive and kicking today, reflecting and extending the music from which it derives its inspiration. Ksatriya, Lucille Das, James and friends will bring you jazz chants, jazz rap and jazz poetry.
