Anne Paceo “Yôkai”’s Appearance at The 12th Penang Island Jazz Festival 2015 is Supported By The Alliance Francaise de Penang
Anne Paceo started playing the drums when she was 9. Born in 1984, she took her first steps in jazz at the age of 12 at the Children for Jazz festival in Barcelonnette where she took part in the master classes of Dianne Reeves, Kenny Garrett and Ravi Coltrane and later in 2005, she entered the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique de Paris and graduated with “mention très bien”.
From the age of 17, Anne has performed in more than 38 different countries to date, either as leader of her own bands ”triphase” and “Yôkai”or as a sidewoman with musicians such as Rhoda Scott, Michel Legrand, Rick Margitza, Houston Person, China Moses, Henri Texier, Andy Sheppard, Christian Escoudé, Yaron Herman, Dan Tepfer, Melissa Laveaux, Norrbotten Big Band, European Jazz Orchestra, etc.
She has released 3 albums as a leader on laborierecords and has received many awards, including “Victoire du Jazz, révélation instrumentale” and “Django d’Or” in the “young talent” category amongst others. Saxophonist Antonin Tri-Hoang, Bass player Joan Eche-Puig and guitarist Pierre Perchaud completes her line-up.
